  • Fabrication: cut to size from the approved pool drawings, precision cutting and CNC
  • Production time: approx. 20–25 days
  • Included: slab review before cutting, dimensional QC, piece marking, factory layout checks, finished-product photos before shipment

We supplied approximately 600 m² of Cambodia G654 granite for seven swimming pools at a private residence in Belgium. The order covered two products: cut-to-size granite pool coping at 1000 × 350 × 20 mm, and granite poolside paving at 1000 × 1000 × 30 mm, both in the medium-grain selection with a flamed finish. Every special piece was produced from the approved pool drawings, and fabrication took approximately 20–25 days.

Why We Chose the Medium-Grain Cambodia G654 Selection

Cambodia G654 is a dark grey, dense crystalline granite with no strong directional veining, which keeps large exterior areas visually calm. We stock it in more than one grain selection, and for this order we used the medium grain.

Appearance was part of that decision, but production came first. From our own fabrication experience, the medium grain holds up consistently through repeat cut-to-size work, and this order had to leave the factory as one coordinated package: straight coping, corner pieces and large paving units for seven separate pools.

Buyers who know Chinese G654 often look at the Cambodian material as an alternative — they are different stones, but the dark-grey tone and compact granular surface read similarly at project scale.

The slabs we selected for Belgium had a consistent grey background and an even medium-scale grain. Flaming lightens and textures the surface, so the finished pool surrounds sit matte in the landscape, without the sheen of polished G654.

Slab Selection for a 600 m² Order

Material approval on this order went past a hand sample. Coping and paving were being cut for seven pools, so visible variation across the full production quantity mattered as much as the stone itself.

Before cutting, we reviewed the production slabs for grey tone, grain size and batch consistency, then sent slab photographs so the customer could confirm the selection on the actual production material rather than a reference piece.

That step mattered here because the same granite had to work in two very different formats: narrow coping strips at the water's edge, and 1000 × 1000 mm paving units laid across much larger open areas.

Cut-to-Size G654 Granite Swimming Pool Coping, 1000 × 350 × 20 mm

Every piece of flamed granite pool coping in this order was cut to size from the swimming pool drawings, not from a stock list. The principal specification was 1000 × 350 × 20 mm.

We flamed the top surface and machine-profiled the pool-facing side into a rounded exposed edge, so the visible arris is a finished profile instead of a sawn cut.

Straight runs were combined with factory-precut corner pieces. The pool photographs show angled joints at the corners, which meant the geometry, the direction of the exposed edge and the matching dimensions all had to be fixed before anything was cut.

For other thicknesses, profiles or G654 outdoor components, our Cambodia G654 granite pool coping page shows additional custom coping options.

Preparing the special pieces in the factory also let us check the corner dimensions and profiles alongside the repeating straight coping before shipment.

1000 × 1000 × 30 mm Granite Poolside Paving

The order also included flamed G654 granite paving at 1000 × 1000 × 30 mm for the areas surrounding the pools.

That is a much larger module than common paving tiles. At one metre square, finished dimensions and thickness have to hold, because there is very little room to absorb variation across repeated units of that size.

Running the same Cambodia G654 selection through both products kept the coping and the adjoining paving inside one colour and grain range, while the two formats did different jobs in the pool landscape.

Buyers looking for other outdoor sizes, materials and finishes can also compare our broader granite pavers range.

CNC Fabrication and Pre-Shipment QC

Seven pools meant far more than one repeated coping size. Straight pieces, corner components, rounded exposed edges and large-format paving all had to come out of the same production run and match the approved requirements.

We cut the components on precision equipment, with CNC processing for the profiled and corner pieces. Finished production was then checked for:

  • length and width
  • coping and paving thickness
  • rounded edge profile
  • corner-piece geometry
  • material colour and grain selection
  • agreement with the production drawings

We marked pieces and groups for order management, laid out sections in the factory to check how they met, and photographed the finished components before shipment.

On a long pool edge, small deviations repeat and become visible wherever several pieces come together at a corner. Controlling that in the factory means the installation team can work from the dimensions already fixed in the drawings instead of correcting fabrication differences on site.

Packing the Finished Pool Coping

Packing needed particular care, because the coping left our factory as a finished component and not a sawn blank.

The rounded exposed edges and fabricated corners stay visible after installation, so they had to be kept clear of direct contact through handling and sea transport.

We grouped and wrapped the coping pieces, added protective material around the exposed edges and ends, and kept the packing sequence organised so the different components could be identified on arrival. On a seven-pool order that last point carries real weight: several dimensions and profiles land at the same time, and installation moves faster when the crew can tell them apart without opening everything.

The Completed Cambodia G654 Swimming Pools in Belgium

In the completed photographs, the Cambodia G654 forms a continuous dark-grey border against the blue water. The flamed surface stays matte and textured, and at normal viewing distance the medium grain reads as an even grey field.

Joints along the long coping runs stay regular, and the factory-cut corner pieces give controlled angled transitions around each perimeter. The same grey ties the coping into the surrounding paving, the lawn, the brick house and the contemporary landscape design.

Custom Granite Swimming Pool Coping for Project Orders

This Belgium project pulled material selection, custom coping, large-format paving, CNC fabrication, corner processing, QC and export packing into a single order.

For similar swimming pool work, Excellent Stone can start from your construction drawings and confirm coping sizes, thicknesses, exposed-edge profiles, corner details, paving dimensions, finish and quantities before anything is cut. Current Cambodia G654 slabs and available selections can be reviewed first, so the stone is approved against the real project requirement and not against a small reference sample.
